Proverse Hong Kong awarded my poem, “Haven Among Trees,” a third place in their International Single Poetry Prize. My poem will be included in their anthology, Mingled Voices #7, which will be released in April of 2023.
My poem, “Harmonious Healer,” was one of the third place winners for the 2021 Poetry Contest for the Dancing Poetry Festival, sponsored by the Artists Embassy International.
My poems “Autumn Acrobats” and “Precision Pilots” have been accepted for the NC Statewide Poetry Initiative, Poetry in Plain Sight. “Autumn Acrobats” will be on display in store fronts in Winston-Salem and New Bern during September, 2019 and “Precision Pilots” will be on display during October, 2019.
My poem, “Altered Silhouette,” was selected to correspond with Nancy Smith’s painting “Twilight Reflection” as part of Nancy L Smith’s Women Speak Project, 2018-2019. I participated in the authors’ readings during the Women Speak Exhibit held at the Frank Community Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC on March 11, 2019.
My personal narrative, “Roaming Yellowstone,” was a semi-finalist in the Parks and Points 2018 Fall Essay Contest.

I was recipient of the 2017 Rebecca Lard Poetry Award for my poem “Spiritual Awakening,” which was featured in the 2018 Spring Poetry Quarterly, along with four more of my poems. (Prolific Press)
My flash fiction piece, “Garden Variety,” was chosen for Nailpolish Stories, A Tiny and Colorful Literary Journal’s Best of 2017.
In October, 2017, my poem, “Aged,” won an Honorable Mention for The Amy Woodward Fisher World Day of Poetry Contest for Free Verse sponsored by the Poetry Scribes of Spokane, Washington. It was also published in issue 85 of Burningword Literary Journal.
